Unity Bank rolls out new marketing campaign and targets women entrepreneurs

Unity Bank Plc has rolled out a new marketing campaign aimed at reaching millions of female entrepreneurs, especially the underbanked across Nigeria with its new retail product, the Yanga Account.

The Yanga account, which was launched by the lender in November 2021 in line with Unity Bank’s strategic vision to be “Nigeria’s retail bank of choice”, debuted in four geographies: Mararaba State/Nasarawa , Ibadan/Oyo State, Uyo/Akwa Ibom State and Gombe/Gombe State.

Commenting on the new Yanga market penetration campaign, Division Head, Retail and SME, Mr. Olufunwa Akinmade said that “after launching the Yanga account, unveiled veteran actress Sola Sobowale as ‘Mama Yanga,” the new campaign aims to further provide the engagement platform to empower the primary target of the product existing in our communities and found among millions of underbanked women.”

The product targets women entrepreneurs in micro, small and medium enterprises, MSMEs, especially the underbanked, providing women with savings and investment, capacity building, bank branches, dedicated agents, medical insurance and microloans, thus deepening financial inclusion.

The marketing campaign includes a well-targeted TV ad featuring the Bank’s brand ambassador, award-winning Nollywood actress, Sola Sobowale, who was crowned “Mama Yanga” at the product launch in November. last year because of its strong target appeal. market. Through the multiple channels deployed for the campaign, “Mama Yanga” will share the stories of how Yanga is empowering women and changing lives across Nigeria.
